The Launceston Look About is a quality tour that gives a great overview of Australia's third oldest city, its early history, scenic vantage points, recreational venues, parks, gardens, educational facilities and points of interest. One of the highlights of this tour is a visit to popular Cataract Gorge and the Cliff Grounds area. An excellent way to become familiar with Launceston at the commencement of your stay!
An evening everyone will enjoy is Treasure Island Coaches' Penguins and Places Tour. This tour includes sightseeing of the Georgetown and Low Head district, plus close encounters with fairy penguins on an informative fully guided penguin colony tour. Your experience with these delightful creatures will be something special to remember. And you're sure to experience something a little different on the West Tamar Wonders Tour, which visits the world's finest seahorse farm at Beauty Point. You'll also see platypus up-close at the Platypus House attraction, pass the Tamar's famous Batman Bridge and call in at the quaint Swiss-style village of Grindelwald. A great way to experience some of the many jewels of the Tamar Valley. |
Experience the magical splendour of Cradle Mountain. Discover the natural beauty of this World Heritage-listed National Park - waterfalls, rainforest, glacial lakes and wildlife. Highlights of the tour begin as you travel through historical towns, past Australian Blue Gum and pine plantations and visit Sheffield to view the town murals. You can then browse the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre before choosing from the walks on offer such as The Enchanted Forest Walk to see the pencil pine, lush forest and a beautiful waterfall - Dove Lake, which has spectacular views of Cradle Mountain. You may even come across some wild life such as wombats, potaroos and wallabies. You can also visit the Waldheim Chalet, the forest home of Austrian-born pioneer, Gustav Weindorfer, before heading home, stopping at Ashgrove Cheese Farm to sample some of Tassie's finest cheeses.
All McDermotts Treasure Island Coaches' vehicles are seat-belt equipped, air-conditioned, feature fabric covered and reclining coach seats and are operated by local friendly and experienced drivers/guides. |
